Flashback gets 2009 Emmy Nomination

 

'Return to Nablus', the second one-hour special in Flashback's award-winning Palestinian schools series, has been nominated for a 2009 International Emmy in the Current Affairs category.

The series, made for Al Jazeera English 'Witness', in association with Teachers TV, follows the triumphs and tragedies of the students and teachers at Hajja Rushda girls school and King Talal boys school over a year. 'Return to Nablus' focuses on the last few months of the school year, As the schools face the usual stresses of exam time and students looking to uncertain futures, they also have to cope with the extraordinary pressures of life under Israeli occupation.

The series was commissioned by Flora Gregory for Al Jazeera English 'Witness' and Andrew Bethell for Teachers TV.
